Platformer Kit — A Solid Foundation for Your 2D Platformer

Stop rebuilding the same physics from scratch. This kit gives you a polished, commercial-feel movement system and core gameplay loop, ready to build your game on top of — built in GameMaker.

What's included:

🏃 Responsive Movement — Smooth acceleration/friction, variable jump height, coyote time, and jump buffering. The kind of "game feel" details that separate amateur platformers from polished ones.

📷 Smart Camera — Deadzone follow, look-ahead, and room-bounds clamping. No jittery, robotic camera movement.

🎭 7-State Animation System — Idle, walk, run, jump, fall, hurt, and dead states, cleanly managed with priority-based switching.

⚔️ Combat Foundation — A reusable hitbox/hurtbox system with invulnerability frames, knockback, and a flexible base object any enemy or trap can inherit from.

💾 Checkpoints & Respawn — Persistent save points, heart-based lives system, and death/respawn handling.

🪙 Collectibles — A working coin system with persistent world state (no re-collecting the same coin after a room reload).

🧱 One-Way Platforms — Jump through from below, land on top, drop through on command.

⏸️ Pause System — Freezes gameplay without breaking music, particles, or transitions.

🎵 Seamless Music — Tracks don't restart when reloading a level.
